　わざわざ田町のあたりまで出向いたあげく、『Women in Literature: Reading Through the Lens of Gender』に収録された狙いの論文がたったの3ページしかなくて、しかも結論が

Students might compare the lives of women today with those in Crime and Punishment to see what has changed and what has not. They might also consider whether women are still seen as purer and more self-sacrificing than men.

だったときちゃあ、まったく自分を殴り殺さずにすんだのが不思議なくらいである。要するに、この本、ガッコのセンセ向けだったんだよね。下調べが足りませんでした。
　転んだからにはただでは起き上がれないので、地下5階まであるその図書館の最深部に赴き、雑誌のコピーをとるわエレベーターアクションするわの大立ち回りを演じてきた。

　記事タイトルが指している教科書というのは、上記『Women in Literature: Reading Through the Lens of Gender』とか、あとは『Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment (Bloom's Notes)』とかのこと。
　しかしこのBloom' Notesシリーズはすごいな。有名な批評家Harold Bloom編の作品解説本シリーズ（全50巻ぐらい？）で、こういうシリーズをなんて呼びならわすのか知らないけど、

を提供してくれるもの。たとえば収録されたあらすじは、研究に役立つように章ごとにポイントを押さえてある。日本で文学用のこういうシリーズってあったっけか？
　ちょっと感動して、久々に文学者への信頼を高めました。つーかBloom仕事しすぎ！　作品解説以外にもいっぱいシリーズがあるようです。
　あ、ブルームは、イェール学派で有名なひとですよね。私はタームとしてしか知りませんけど、「影響の不安」なんていい概念も出してます（私の史観にぴったり）。
